Quick tips to clean SATO printer printhead

To maintain high quality printing and to extend the life of the print head, follow these steps below:

1. Clean the print head at every label roll change (for Direct Thermal printing) or every ribbon change (for Thermal Transfer).
2. Avoid touching the print head surface and never use sharp or metal implements, such as knives or screwdrivers to clean it.
3. Use lint-free cloth soaked in isopropyl alcohol, or use SATO print head cleaning solutions.
4. Please be caution while cleaning the platen roller to avoid injuries or tear bar strips.
5. Clean particles of dust and debris from the interior of the printer and close the lid to reduce the intake of airborne contamination.
6. Print with the lowest / recommended print darkness setting.
