CL4/6-SXR line delivers high-speed, high-precision industrial printers equipped with AI predictive maintenance
SATO Corporation, a global pioneer in the development of auto-ID and labeling solutions, today announced the Southeast Asia launch of its next-generation flagship industrial label printers, the CL4-SXR and CL6-SXR. Following the global announcement, the new printer series will be introduced across the region from January 26, 2026, delivering high-precision printing, advanced usability and AI-enabled predictive maintenance to support the region’s growing manufacturing, logistics and retail sectors.
The next-generation line delivers dramatically improved print speed and accuracy, advanced sensor technology, a redesigned user interface and AI-powered predictive maintenance—capabilities that far surpass those of previous models.

Developed as the next evolution of SATO’s industrial lineup, the CL4/6-SXR embodies SATO’s commitment to reliability and innovation. Designed for industries undergoing rapid digital transformation that face workforce challenges, the printers support customers in building the workplaces of the future.
Based on the Simple & Solid + Smart design concept, the CL4/6-SXR delivers top-class all-around performance—combining speed, precision, durability, ease of use, predictive maintenance and eco-conscious design to meet every on-site labeling need.
Main features
1. High-precision printing
Achieves a printing accuracy of ±0.3 mm1 in high-precision mode—ideal for nameplates and micro label printing which requires exact alignment.
2. Ultra-fast, high-resolution printing
Boosts productivity with print speeds of up to 18 inches per second (ips) at 203 dpi and 16 ips at 305 dpi.
3. New “peel-off unit” design
Improved mechanism for reliable handling of thin labels and strong adhesives, with a movable peel sensor for accurate detection of micro labels or irregularly shaped labels.
4. 4.3-inch color touch panel with built-in speaker
Larger, high-visibility LCD screen and intuitive touch interface for easier operation. Voice guidance via built-in speaker supports operators with clear, on-screen instructions.

5. AI-driven predictive maintenance
The CL4/6-SXR supports stable, continuous operation through AI-based condition monitoring, predicting potential failures before they occur and enabling predictive maintenance.

6. Environmentally conscious design
Approximately 34% of the printer’s resin components are made from recycled materials. The printers also include a “no-label-waste” function that allows printing from the very first label, reducing material waste2.
“As businesses across Southeast Asia, particularly in the manufacturing, logistics and retail sectors, continue to scale and modernise their operations, reliable and intelligent labelling infrastructure is becoming increasingly critical,” said Kazuyoshi Matsukawa, Head of Southeast Asia, SATO Asia Pacific. “The CL4-SXR and CL6-SXR printers are designed to help businesses improve operational accuracy, reduce downtime and support long-term growth in an increasingly competitive environment.”
1. Accuracy measured under SATO’s specified test conditions; results may vary by environment and media used.
2. Dependent on settings and usage conditions.
