Blood tracking from donation to transfusion for patient safety

Unlike other types of RFID technologies, PJM RFID which is compliant with the publicly available international standard ISO 18000-3 Mode 2 is entirely unaffected by liquids, making it ideal for the tracking of blood and blood products. PJM RFID is the only RFID technology that guarantees 100% read accuracy – Essential to patient safety.		PJM RFID's unique stacking capability ensures that blood component units, sample tubes and even slides will always be accurately identified, even when they are tightly packed or stacked together -A feature unique to PJM RFID.

SATO's 3D PJM antennas produce a 3D reading field eliminating the requirement for special handling procedures. All other RFID technologies require the placement of blood component units in a specific orientation, typically flat. With PJM, no changes to your existing workflow or storage procedures are required.		PJM is a High Frequency (HF) Technology and is compliant with the publicly available international standard ISO 18000-3 Mode 2. It is not absorbed by biological agents or liquids, making it completely safe and reliable to read large volumes of blood and liquid products. High Frequency (HF) RFID is recognised by the FDA for use with blood products. SATO's field cancelling antenna designs produce radiated emissions 1000 times lower that the CE mandate, making them safe for staff and for use near sensitive medical equipment in hospitals and medical labs.		SATO's PJM Integrated Circuit (IC) Chip is rated down to -80°C making it suitable for ultra low temperature storage condition.

SATO's range of PJM RFID labels have been developed to withstand medical grade sterilisation using X-Ray, Gamma or E-Beam.		With an advanced 4 kbit memory space, our chip can store the full ISBT 128 data set and cross-match information.		SATO supplies centrifuge-hardened PJM RFID labels, allowing for complete traceability of all blood components from donation to processing to transfusion.

Our IC Chip supports NFC and can be read using standard smart phone or tablet devices making it ideal for bedside use, providing a complete vein to vein capability without the need for special readers to be carried by hospital staff.		SATO has designed its PJM RFID products to simply retrofit to existing appliances with no loss of storage capacity. Access control can also be added to provide complete traceability by capturing who performed what transaction, what the action was, the product(s) involved and the time and date of the transaction.		SATO has the software support capability to work with any blood software solution provider to interface PJM into their system(s), enabling real time inventory visibility, automated temperature and on-shelf location tracking, FEFO enforcement as well as many other benefits.
